CHALLENGE

Valuable performance data buried in complexity, hard for players and coaches to translate into action.

SOLUTION

SpinInsight simplified video analysis, reports, and dashboards into fast, coach-ready tools.

RESULT

A program-record 40–1 season and the 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Tennis National Championship title.

About the program

Wake Forest’s men’s tennis program is one of the most consistent contenders in college tennis, with a long history of NCAA Tournament appearances and a roster built on elite talent. Heading into the 2025 season, it had depth, experienced coaching, and one of the toughest schedules in the ACC. What it needed was a faster way to turn match and practice data into decisions the team could use from one practice to the next.

The Challenge

Elite college programs have no shortage of information. The challenge is knowing what matters and how to use it. Heading into 2025, SpinInsight worked with Wake Forest to turn detailed tennis analysis into practical insights for coaches and players.

The focus was on making the right information available at the right time, helping the team prepare, adjust, and make better decisions throughout the season.

The Solution

Working with SpinInsight throughout the 2025 season, the program built its preparation around three key pieces.

Video tied to metrics

Film sessions became more than watching and discussing matches. A rally could be viewed alongside the numbers behind it, making patterns easy to spot at a glance.

Reports built for practice, not archives

Instead of sorting through a full data dump after every match, the team worked from concise reports focused on the handful of insights that actually shaped the next week of training.

Dashboards built for speed

Coaches needed to walk into practice already knowing what to reinforce. Players needed to understand their own trends in a way that was clear and actionable. Not to show everything, but to show what mattered.
None of this replaced the work Wake Forest’s coaches and players were already putting in. It removed friction from the process, so preparation for every opponent started with a clear picture instead of a PDF report. By the NCAA tournament, the reports had become part of the team’s weekly preparation.

The Results

Championships are won by players who compete, adapt, and execute under pressure.

For SpinInsight, the season was a real-world test of whether fast, simplified analytics could support better preparation and decision-making at the highest level of college tennis.

Testimonial Image Jeff Wyshner

“Both our men’s and women’s programs have been thrilled with SpinInsight for breaking down the video and giving us a statistical look at our match play. The interface for uploading, reviewing video and looking at match stats is extremely user-friendly, and the details in the match reports is impressive. Plus, SpinInsight is incredibly responsive to help us in any way we need and has even added specific information according to the needs of one of our teams. We are definitely looking forward to continuing to work with Spininsight for many years to come.”
